You asked us for more summer glass fusing projects for kids, and we listened! Every couple of weeks through summer break, we will be offering super cute, fun, and educational project days! These affordable, short, cool workshops require registration, but the time frame is wide open that day to come and make glass art. Just register to hold your spots, then drop by any time 10am to 3pm the day of the event (whatever time works best for you) and plan for a couple of hours of glass making fun.
These projects are designed for a range of ages and abilities – young artists ages 5-14 can all participate – our instructors will help each maker individually and instruction will be tailored to their age and experience with glass. Plan for about two hours start to finish, for each of the projects.
Each session is $25 per participant, and we require a parent or guardian to stay and either participate (this is fun for adults too!) or assist/watch and cheer. (You can bring several kiddos and assist them all.)
We will have healthy snacks and juice available for everyone, upbeat music, lots of great glass, and staff with loads of experience teaching kids – we can’t wait to welcome you to relax, learn, and create!
Thursday, June 21 is Coaster Day! You’ll make two coasters, just in time for summer lemonade drinking. They can match, or be different looks entirely. We will fuse, clean, and put rubber bumpers on the bottom, and voila!
Tuesday, July 10 is Night Light Day! Make one for you and one for a friend or sibling. After firing, all hardware will be attached, with a bulb included. You can match your room, design something wild, or make a superhero light.
Wednesday, July 25 is Vase/Pencil Holder Day! You’ll design your own 3×6 vase front, and we will fire it to hold texture and contour, for a unique, all-yours look. This 6x3x3 glass piece can hold flowers, pencils, or even coins you’re saving.
Tuesday, August 9 is Stacked and Framed Day! You’ll create a gorgeous scene by staking glass up to be tack fused, then we will fire it and attach it to a 5×7 frame. Your can make flowers, a landscape, birds, whatever you can imagine…and we will have some patterns ready if you like. You’ll be proud to hang this on the wall and show off your new glass making skills.
Thursday, August 21 is Ador-a-Bowl Day! You’ll make four 3×3 bowls, for gifting or keeping. They can be in any color or design, and they are SO cute! They hold keys, jewelry, mementos, anything small and special. (Moms love them for ring holders by the kitchen sink!).
